    It was an imposing barrier to early travelers, but ancient people left their mark on Utah's San Rafael Swell with cliff pictographs and paintings. Interstate 70 makes crossing the Swell easier, but no less spectacular. A passing hail storm and the late afternoon sun provided the unusual lighting.
