Gadia Lohars is a nomadic community of Rajasthan in India. They are lohar(ironsmith) by vocation who move from place to place on bullock carts (Gadi), hence the name 'Gadia Lohar'. Their forefathers were blacksmiths in the army of Maharana Pratap of Mewar. When Mewar fell to Akbar,  they pledged never to return & settle anywhere else until Rana's return. They lead a hard life and despite the vagaries of weather, they, children of the desert, are a handsome and cheerful lot and remain dignified.
