I met Zayan, his brothers and sisters, during a photography outing, in Manila. What started as a fortuitous encounter developed into a weekly visit. Car filled with food, clothes and toys, I experienced their joy and laughter. This is the last picture I took of Zayan, before I left the city for good. The sun was coming down over Manila Bay, he had found a hammock where to spend the night, his meager dinner preciously held in one hand. Survival in the hope of a better future.
