    While working in Alaska as a fisheries technician I created a small white-walled (except for the front of course) plexiglass aquarium to take portraits of fish species. I thought it would be interesting and unique to be able to isolate the fish and capture them with a macro lens. These are two male threespined stickleback in their strikingly beautiful spawning colors. These fish are incredibly common and far outnumber any other fish species in the Iliamna Lake system
