Black-capped Chickadee: Curious and inquisitive, black-capped chickadees may even land on people and are common and familiar visitors to backyard feeders.
Chickadees cache seeds, and are able to relocate hidden food up too a month later. They are fast and flighty. (My own observation!) Small flocks of foraging chickadees join titmice, nuthatches and other small birds to form mixed flocks in winter. Mixed flocks of chickadee, titmice and nuthatches sometimes stumble into Eastern screech owls.
