I was sitting by the lake, where I spent many days in my childhood, watching the dragonflies flit by, when I saw one land right near my feet, on one of the rusted chains keeping a pontoon boat docked to shore. I popped on my 2X magnification lens & got as close as I could to the dragonfly, trying to make sure not to scare him or her, so it wouldn't fly away. After almost falling into the lake, I was able to get this shot, where you can see the details of this dragonfly's green-blue eyes.
