    You don't have to go far to find amazing animal behavior. I tend to see a lot of these robber flies in my backyard before dusk feeding on smaller insects. While their feeding is the best time to shoot them due to that they're occupied. Robber flies are very strong flyers and like all Diptera have halteres (club shaped structure on the thorax), which act as gyroscopes to help stabilization in flight.
