I was taking pics in Desanech village in Lower Omo Valley in Ethiopia when this old man crawled out of one hut and sat next to me. I don't know wheather he was curious or wanted some change. but he just sat next to me talking softly. And I realized he just wanted to have contact with someone, to feel alive. He looked very malnourished, which seems to be the norm with old and young in this harsh environment. I touched his hand as he spoke and a faint smile brightened his face for a brief moment.
