In a slum near Belém do Pará (Brasil), many children did not had access to at leat one proper meal per day. I participated in a project from an NGO in which a meal of "mingau" (a sort of porridge) was given to kids who did attend to school, with a dual purpose of fighting hunger and school dropout. This kid was asking for "mingau" for him, after giving the first cup to his younger brother (who was still too young to go to school). In that day there was enough for the two of them, of course...
