I found this great-horned owl in this low hunting perch in an old juniper tree. It was focused intently, waiting for any sound in the sage brush. From the pellets I found nearby, it is clear that this owl is a skillful hunter. The first light of the morning cast a beautiful combination of gold and purple in the sky while the owl hunted from the shadows.
