I saw a NG article that had a photo of Obama's newly declared National monuments that I recognized as part of the scenery of my old hometown of Las Cruces, New Mexico. I remember having taken a similar photo in 9th grade from my backyard- just on the other side of the photo in your magazine. I didn't realize they were opposite sides of the mountain until I put them together. I felt like I knew every spot on those mountains through my hiking days back there. I like the way the images match up.
