This is an HDR photo of a glass containing water and a marimo. A marimo is 'a species of filamentous green algae found mostly in a number of lakes in the northern hemisphere'. Their scientific designation is Aegagropila linnaei. The word marimo is what they're called in Japan where they officially have the status of being a 'national treasure'. The bracketed exposures were merged using the 'creative' preset in the Photomatix software.
