Dhankar village - a small hamlet in the harsh terrains of Spiti valley, Himachal Pradesh. It used to be the traditional capital of the Spiti valley kingdom once upon a time. In the small village of dhankar, there is one Gompa [Monastery] which today is struggling for its existence. The rocks are fast eroding due to wind and rain thus making the Monastery almost hang from one of the cliffs. The monastery today is one of the most endangered monuments in the world.
