Icy Beach
In the fading hours of winter daylight, waves crash against blocks of polished ice that wash ashore after breaking off a nearby glacier in the Vatnajokull National Park in Iceland. The power of the waves would gently shift the ice resting on the beach, and the wind helped add dramatic flare to the waves as they rolled onto the beach. This was my second visit to Iceland and we had driven 5 hours from Reykjavik to visit this beach, knowing we only had a narrow window of light to work with.
