On a trip to visit a friend who was studying hyenas in the Masai Mara of Kenya, a thunderstorm passed us as we were driving back from doing field observations. After it passed, we got out and I set up the tripod, using a long shutter speed to capture the lightning; we were lucky to get some bolts directly behind us.
