Helping Abi-ley with Dinner
Abi-ley is the grandmother in the tiny village of Hankar in Ladakh, India. My 5 day trek in India coincided with Kalachakra, the annual sermon by His Holiness, Dalai Lama in Leh. Entire villages were empty on my trek as they had gone to hear him speak. Padma, my guide (on the left) had to join forces with two other guides (right) to make dinner for the trekkers as the sweet and slightly stunned grandma in our home-stay needed their help to host us. Guiding is more than helping hikers climb.
