O Jerusalem
Two women outside the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem's Old City. As a non-Muslim, I could not go in, so instead I tried to imagine the beauty within based on the stunning beauty I saw outside - a moment of peace in a tumultuous region. My trip to Israel & Palestine made history immediate and confronted me with conflict. I had to realize my role in either continuing or redirecting the injustices visited on and by Arabs, Jews, Israelis, and Palestinians caught up in centuries of overlapping struggle.
