Scrambling up the steep rocky terrain of the Trinity Alps, we climbed through various layers of vegetation, the summer sun falling behind the tall granite peaks as we ascended into the glacier carved bowl cradling Boulder Creek Lakes. Taking a moment to let the sweet view wash over our eyes as the evening sun beat against our bare backs, we drank in the fresh alpine air, our fast-beating hearts resting after our vertical climb.
