When my mother developed Parkinson's Disease, I asked her to do a photo shoot with me focusing on her hands. In many cases, shaking hands are the first marker of the disease. In each shot we used different props to emphasize the many facets of her life. Our family is from Canada, and prior to that, England and Scotland. Tea was a way of life for my mother's and grandmother's generation and mom brought some lovely tea cups with her when she moved in with us.
