Fields of trees in Lombardy's Pianura Padana, the stretch of flat land, known for its thick fog in fall and winter, in northern Italy between the Alps of Trentino Alto Adige to the north and the Appenine mountains of Tuscany to the south. Trees planted in long, straight lines are rotated around this region creating an ever-changing landscape. The original forests are long gone, but these symmetric rows of trees have a charm of their own and are characteristic of Lombardy's Mantova area.
