Autumn sunrise in Lombardy's Pianura Padana, the flat stretch of land known for its thick fog in fall and winter, in northern Italy between the Alps of Trentino Alto Adige to the north and the Appenine mountains of Tuscany to the south. The first light of day illuminates fields of trees planted in straight lines which are rotated around the Mantova countryside to produce wood for industry.
