A mural of hand-prints at the entrance of one of the inner gates of Mehrangarh Fort. The chilling story of widowed and faithful queens, bedecked in their jewels and finery, would pass through the palace gates for the last time. As they left, they would leave a vermilion stained hand imprint on the wall for posterity, before being lost to the flames of Sati.
