Mantis shrimps are one of the most fantastic creatures I know. They have the most complex eyes ever described, with trinocular vision (3 "irises" in each eye, enabling them to see with three pictures with each eye) making their depth perception phenomenal. They also have 16 different color receptors (humans have 3) including polarized light. Since the mantis shrimp is a colorful fiest for the eye to us, we can only imagine what they look like to another mantis.
