Every year in Al Ain, there's a Camel Beauty Contest. Camels are judged based on physical appearance (size of their bodies, length of their necks, eyelashes or whiskers) and tourists are allowed to go and see the camels in their pens. The darker colored camels like the one pictured here, are larger than their light-colored cousins and used for milking while the lighter ones are smaller and used for racing.
