    Reported by:

While photographing a Bald Eagle in Longmont, Colorado, USA in December 2014, I noticed the eagle become quite distracted. He was clearly watching some sort of activity below him. I pull my face away from my camera’s viewfinder and I see a squirrel working its way closer to the raptor. This brave (or dumb) rodent came right up to the eagle. The whole time the eagle had a look on its face like, “Are you kidding me?” The eagle must have respected the squirrel’s moxie as he let it live.
