BASKING IN THE GLOW
This Green Iguana was resting on the bank of a canal in FL ((USA). I love the way the setting sun brings out its colors; especially the orange in its dewlap. Iguanas are not native to FL, but because of the warm climate, can now be found in southern areas of the state. A Green Iguana has venom-secreting glands but due to its size and inability to deliver the venom efficiently it is not harmful to humans or animals larger than itself. It can, however, carry the Salmonella bacteria.
