Letdar (4250m) is the second to last stop for trekkers on their way to Thorung La. It is important for acclimatization as you are not supposed gain more than 1000m elevation in a single day and Letdar is 750m above the previous stop in Manang. The high alpine of Nepal is a beautifully stark place. There are no more tall trees just grasses and small shrubs. Looking back toward Manang down the valley we were above the clouds allowing for beautiful views of the stars and mountains.
