In summer, this boardwalk trail through Yellowstone's West Thumb geyser basin is thronged with visitors getting to know this grand National Park. In winter, the scene is more subdued, and it is possible to visit in small groups that let you view things more closely for as long as you can stand the cold. This morning scene was experiencing minus 8°F.
