The rare 'Super Moon' rises over the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Dallas. The bridge designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava is both iconic landmark or wasteful boondoggle depending on who you ask. Completed at a cost of $120 million, the arch and suspension cables are purely aesthetic and serve no practical need. The Trinity River in this photo is merely a stagnant pond at the bottom of a dry river wash.
