    During my exploration of Jakarta, I asked many individuals if I could photograph them by pointing to my camera. These two men were amused by me doing this, so I asked if I could photograph them. I found it interesting how their expressions immediately became serious, as if portraits are intended to be less jovial in Indonesia. The uniformity in their posture, expression, and clothing intrigued me.
