    Reported by:

Zanzibar has mostly avoided the violence and decline experienced by its sister city, Mombasa. This is due in large part to the autonomy it enjoys as a Muslim republic within Tanzania, and the fact that it has avoided the deluge of non-Muslim settlers that the Kenyan coast is undergoing. But this "coast" double entendre is a reminder of the cultural insecurity felt by some Zanzibaris. I've reached my weekly quota of uploads so I will be back here on Sunday to upload some more Zanzibar imagery.
