Making Lavash the traditional way
Two women prepared to bake Lavash in a pottery oven embedded beneath the dirt floor. One lady kneaded the dough and rolled it out into a paper thin oblong "bread." The other lady stretched the bread on a cloth covered cushion (left in photo) and slapped it against the side of the oven. When it was done she lifted it out with a metal hook. The process was repeated many times until hundreds of breads formed a pile.
