    While eagle watching this weekend, I spotted a lone male Kestrel in the middle of a wide open field. He had found the only taller plant for hundreds of yards around, and perched there to hunt for his quarry. I was able to creep through a foot of snow to get close enough for this shot. It never ceases to amaze me how kestrels can balance so perfectly on the most unlikely of plants.
