Edit Photo Details Crude oil and natural gas christmas tree   #tree #of #different #christmas #kind
This oil and gas platform is in shallow water and it's production is controlled by this yellow christmas tree. It is called a christmas tree because it makes money. This area was a marshy land mass years ago but the strong Gulf of Mexico east to west current flow along with tropical storms are no match for the muddy marsh bottoms. Most of the coastal erosion on the east side of the Mississippi River is caused by this strong current.
