In Manuel Antonio, I was suddenly surrounded by the noises of a troop of Capuchins in the surrounding vegetation. I have many shots of monkeys just being monkeys, but the lighting and facial expression in this image stood out from the others as something unique and highly emotional. To be blatantly anthropomorphic, this image feels as though I'm secretly witnessing an individual pleading with a higher power. Interesting how that emotional depth can be portrayed by a non-human subject.
