    Edit Photo Details Monk's Mound (Indian Burial site)   #native #monks #indian #largest #mound #cahokia
Monk's Mound, the largest prehistoric earthwork in the Americas, at Cahokia Mounds State Park, site of many, many Indian Burial Mounds scattered over many acres. My family used to have a house on one of the smaller mounds and farm this land, until it was taken over for the State Park.
