We catch the last lift up the summit at 4:30 and hike with all of your gear to the top of the mountain. There is a small fire watch hut and not much else, but it has become alive with 30 to 40 people sitting around together in one large group. They are the lifeblood of the mountain, the staff, and they come here to see something amazing. The sun setting over the Australian Alpine ranges.
