We had just been to visit a small tribe living in the mountains of Xiangxi and on the way back toward Fenghuang, we came across a family of Miao villagers celebrating a wedding. These two caught my attention because of the contrasts between Old and Young, Traditional and Mordern. In the province of Hunan, 21.05% of the population is of Miao ethnicity. Miao live primarily in southern China's mountains, in the provinces of Guizhou, Hunan, Yunnan, Sichuan, Guangxi, Hainan, Guangdong, and Hubei.
