Window detail
The alcazaba of Malaga is like a mini Alhambra and while not as large or as well restored, it has some beautiful details throughout the site. Roman parts are mixed with arab structures such as in the Puerta de las columnas. The site follows the contours of the hillside and makes the most of the location. There are many little shady arbours to relax in and listen to the fountains and take in the gardens. The site is free to visit on Sunday afternoons
