On a typical morning in Mumbai you can find an assortment of sounds, smells, and sights to infuse your senses. This particular winter morning, I was greeted by a flock of pigeons eager to grab some grain being thrown by bystanders. To foreigners this seems to be a bizarre sight; however, feeding the pigeons is considered to be a religious act by many communities in India. Pigeons are thought to be the reincarnated souls of the those who have passed and as such they must never go hungry.
