This is a close-up HDR photo of an icicle hanging on a rock face beside a walking trail that used to be a railway track. The bracketed exposures were merged using the 'creative' preset in Photomatix. An icicle is a beautiful creation of nature, happening thanks to gravity and the slow transition of water from ice to liquid. As light transitions through it, beautiful abstract patterns emerge.
