First Subway in America, B&W
On a wall at the Park Street station in Boston, we see a commemoration to this, the first subway station in America which occurred in 1897, a dramatic transition in how people get around big cities. Because it is historical, we see how we have transitioned in styles, but also in technology and safety, the way the driver of the train is outside, how there are no cellphones. In the foreground is a section the rail that is in use, one piece of rail across the country.
