    A portrait of a woman from the backward community of a village Nandgaon in Uttar Pradesh, India. These people faces the hardships of being considered backward in the society, and they live in the outer rims of the village in dilapidated mud shacks. When the rest of the village is celebrating Holi in full fervour, she is left out of all of it as she stands on her rooftop and watches the festivities below. When I approached her to take a photograph, her happiness was quite heartwarming for me.
