Is this Reddish Egret staring lovingly at his own reflection in the water? No, probably not. But with his near breeding plumage beauty its easy to imagine that's what he's doing. This egret hunts with great agility and intensity that is a real pleasure to watch. In full breeding plumage the bill of this egret would be an even more vibrant shade of pink. Photographed at J. N.
