Salton Sea Expedition
This sea is unique, mysterious, beautiful, off-the-beaten path, secluded, surrounded by a ghost town and in the middle of the desert. It was an accidental sea -- created by the Colorado river as it flooded back in the 40s. Now, its approximately 35 miles long. The only problem; the fish are being killed off by the many due to the high levels of salinity in the water. Now, its a desolate ecosystem challenge marked by a mystique that still exists.
