This is the main Buddha statue at the Golden temple in Dambulla. The Dambulla Cave temples located at the summit of this hill is a UNESCO world heritage site. Human settlements in these caves date back to over 5000 years while these caves have been occupied by Buddhist monks for the last 2000 years.
