At sunrise one morning in Western Mongolia, I had the opportunity to photograph these Kazakh eagle hunters galloping across the steppes with their eagles held high. The speed causes the eagle to spread their wings and release their claws in preparation to be launched into the air. They are only attached to the horsemen in this photo by a tether around their ankles.
