Edit Photo Details A helping hand in Sierra Leone
I was leading a packrafting expedition along the Moa river in Sierra Leone in 2014 and had reached a stretch of water that was running faster and faster. I left the team on the bank and set off through the jungle to locate a way around the rapids. I met this man walking through the trees towards me and despite having no common language I took him back to the team and he led us to his village where we bought some enormous pineapples and he pointed to a track which led us back down to the river.
