The palace of Queen Maynamati who was wife of King Manik Chandra who ruled from 10th-11th century. She was mother of Prince Gopi Chandra from Nath Gitika (Bengali folk literature based on the Nath cult or yoga-sadhana). The discovery of copper plates in 1803, Buddhist remains in 1875 and again during 1955 to 1957 began to reveal the archaeological treasures of the area. In consideration of the antiques and archaeological features the temple may be dated in the 8th to 12th centuries.
