This alley is said to be the only one of Suentelbeeches (Fagus Sylvatica var. Suentelensis) in the world. It is in the small spa town of Bad Nenndorf. Not sure if this is true, but they are a rather rare variety of red beech marked by their stunted growth and twisted branches. In folklore, they are also called witches or devils trees.
